The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as simply the FA Cup, is a knockout cup competition in currenty played in English football, and is run by and named after The English “Football Association”. The name "FA Cup" usually refers to the English men's tournament. The equivalent competition for women's teams is the FA Women's Cup.

The FA Cup Final 2008 was played on Saturday May 17, 2008 between Portsmouth and Cardiff City. It was the 127th FA Cup Final and only the second to be played at the new Wembley Stadium. Portsmouth won the match 1-0 through Kanu's first half goal.
